The Kindergruppe Kauderwelsch e.V. was established in 2010 as a bilingual parents’ association, offering daycare services for a group of 8 babies and toddlers aged 6 months to 3 years, as well as kindergarten for 16 children between 3 and 6 years old. Our educational approach is deeply rooted in the Reggio philosophy.
Our regular opening hours are Monday to Friday: 8:00 am to 4:00 pm (16:00).
Kauderwelsch is typically closed during the following periods:
- The last three weeks of the school summer holidays in Bremen
- Between Christmas and New Year
- One day after the Ascension public holiday
- Two additional one-day closures for teacher planning conferences, one at the beginning and one in the middle of the kindergarten year.
Our current fee is currently 513 € for children under the age of 3. For children aged 3 and above until they start school, there is generally no fee in Bremen. We also charge a meal allowance of 45 € for organic/vegetarian lunches. Further information can be found in this overview of maximum fees including meals. The amount mentioned here is not the final calculation of the total cost of daycare for each individual family. All families have the opportunity to receive a reimbursement of a portion of the fee through the Parent Contribution Office (Elternbeitragsstelle) of the Senator for Education and Children. The Family and Social Services determine the final fee for the family based on the total family income, the number of family members in the household, and the overall need for daycare. The difference between this amount and the Kauderwelsch fee is then directly reimbursed to you by the Family and Social Services. We can provide more detailed information about this process and the required documentation.
Parental Contribution: Once a week, parents take turns cooking for the children, and on the weekends, they are responsible for doing the laundry, including bedding, tea towels, bibs, etc.
The daycare is cleaned twice a week by a cleaning company.
