The Kindergruppe Kauderwelch e.V. was founded in 2010 as a bilingual parents association (German & English) and provides daycare for a group of 8 babies and toddlers between 6 months and 3 years and kindergarten for 16 children aged 3 to 6 years. Our educational concept is based on the Reggio philosophy.
Our regular opening hours:
Mo. – Thurs. from 8:00am to 4:30pm (16:30)
Fr. 8:00am to 4pm (16:00)
Kauderwelsch is usually closed during the last two weeks of the school summer holidays, between Christmas and New Year and one bridging day after the Ascension Day public holiday. Kauderwelsch is also closed for two teacher planning conferences of one day each at the beginning and the middle of kindergarten year.
The fee structure follows the local Bremen fee regulations.
Due to a change in the local laws covering fee regulations (Ortsgesetztes über Beiträge), that results in increases in fees for all community daycares as of the 2017/2018 daycare year, Kauderwelsch has adjusted our monthly fee. Currently, the monthly fee for the daycare is 523€ (no fee for Kids 3 years or older) + 35€ for Meals and 430€ + 35€ for Meals for Kindergarden.
The amount of the fee named here is not the final determination of the final cost of daycare for the individual family. All families have the opportunity to receive a reimbursement of part of the fee through the Family and Social Services (Wirtschaftliche Jugendhilfe beim Amt für Soziale Dienste). The Family and Social Services make a determination of the final fee for the family, based on the total family income, the number of family members in the household and the total need for daycare. The difference between this amount and the Kauderwelsch fee is then reimbursed directly by the Family and Social Services to you. We are able to assist with more detailed information about this process and the documentation required.
Parents contribution: One day a week the parents cook for the children (each family taking turns) and does the washing (bedding/teatowels/bibs/etc.) over the weekend.
Twice a week the daycare is cleaned by a cleaning Company.
